The Honda Civic has retained the title as the best-selling passenger car in Canada* for 2025, marking the 26th of the past 28 years it has captured the crown. A total of 31,054 Civic hybrids, sedans and hatchbacks were sold in 2025 allowing “Canada’s Car’ to claim the number one position.
In addition, the Honda CR-V Hybrid finished 2025 as the best-selling, hybrid-powered vehicle sold in Canada*. A total of 55,987 CR-Vs were purchased in 2025 with 35,325 of those being hybrid models, making it the country’s most popular hybrid vehicle. Hybrid-electric models of the Civic, CR-V and Accord made up 43% of Honda Canada’s total sales in 2025 and are key part of Honda’s future electrification strategy.

Proudly Built in Canada
Various Civic and CR-V models have been built at Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM) plants in Alliston, Ontario since 1988. The Civic has been built at HCM longer than any other Honda plant in the world currently producing the model, over 6 million Civics have been built there. HCM is also the global lead plant for manufacturing the CR-V and the North America lead plant for the CR-V Hybrid. HCM celebrates it’s 40th anniversary building Honda and Acura vehicles in 2026.
Civic is Honda’s longest-running automotive nameplate with approximately 2.3 million sold in Canada since 1973. The CR-V is currently Honda’s best-selling and most popular model in North America, over 15 million units have been sold globally since 1995.
